Here are some new procedures that we have implemented that our patients and staff will need to follow. Please be advised that we are utilizing all CDC, APTA, AOTA and ASHA guidelines to assure the safety of our staff and patients.
We are taking a systematic approach to scheduling and appreciate your patience while we do so. We will also continue to offer Telehealth services for families that would prefer to do so.
New Office Procedures:
1) A day or two before your appointment you will be required to complete a health screening questionnaire over the phone.
2) If you or your child have any symptoms
such as fever of 100.0 or greater, cough, vomiting/diarrhea, rash, eye infection, shortness of breath or similar symptoms,
please reschedule your appointment after 2 weeks. You can choose to utilize Telehealth services for home.
3) If you are a new patient,
please complete the requested forms and email back prior to your scheduled appointment.
Only 1 adult will be permitted to attend New Patient visits.
Other family members may attend virtually if necessary.
4) When you arrive for your appointment, call us at 513-880-6800.
Please be advised to wait in the parking lot while we ask you a few questions before requesting you to walk to the front door.
You and your child will be screened for fever prior to entering the building.
We will have no waiting in the waiting room, and you will be taken directly into the treatment area.
5) One parent/ caregiver
is allowed into the appointment with the child.
If you must bring a sibling, we request that you wait in the car with the sibling.
Siblings are not permitted in the office during this time.
6) If you prefer to wait in the parking lot the therapist will walk to the car and greet you,
discuss any concerns and then take your child inside once they have been screened for fever.
Following the appointment, your child will be escorted back to the car to discuss the appointment,
Home Exercise Program and answer any questions.
7) Facemasks/ Gloves/ Hand washing/ Hand Sanitizing-
All Big Blue Canopy employees will be wearing facemasks during all interactions.
All therapists, patients and caregivers will sanitize/ wash hands before start of treatment.
Your therapist will use gloves during treatment and will continue to sanitize hands during treatment as needed.
Due to limited PPE available all clients must provide their own face covering for mouth and nose.
All clients older than 2 years of age are required to provide their own face coverings for their mouth and nose,
including parents and caregivers.
Facemasks for clients under the age of 2 are not recommended and will not be required.
8) Cleaning of surfaces and toys-
All toys and small items are for therapist use only.
All items used during the session will be sanitized prior to and after each session.
All equipment and areas will be sanitized throughout the day and between treatment sessions.
Shoes are not permitted in the infant/ toddler area, or on mats/ carpets.
Shoes should be used if needed on exercise equipment or if needed for standing and ambulation.
All our staff will be working on modified schedules so that there is only one treating therapist in the office at a time.
Other employees present will be limited to 1-2 in addition to the treating therapist.
10) Telehealth Services-
We will continue to offer these services for families that prefer this versus in office appointments.
